DeckMark QA scheme

Look for the DeckMarkTM Symbol - the sign of quality for decking materials and installers.
DeckMarkTM is a quality assurance (QA) scheme created for the Timber Decking Association by BM TRADA Certification. The scheme is based on existing quality assurance standards - ISO 9000, EN45011/12, ISO Guide 62/65 and is intended to help all those engaged in the specification, design, installation or purchasing of decking ensure that the products they buy or the contractor they commission from a TDA registered firm will be of the highest quality.
To ensure standards of performance are maintained, the DeckMarkTM accreditation of an individual firm is audited and renewed every 12 months by an independent inspector appointed by the TDA
The DeckMarkTM QA scheme has two parts:
DeckMarkTM Part 1 is for PRODUCTS

DISPUTE RESOLUTION, INSPECTION AND EXPERT WITNESS SERVICES
The TDA operates three services for people who have an issue about the quality of the materials or workmanship used on a deck. They are:
- The DeckMarkTM Dispute Resolution Service
- The TDA Deck Inspection & Report Service
- The TDA Expert Witness Service
The DeckMarkTM Dispute Resolution Service is part of the DeckMarkTM quality assurance scheme and is for situations where a customer and TDA registered installer have a difference of opinion about a quality issue they are unable to resolve.
Customers may activate this service by completing a TDA complaint form and sending it with a £25 registration fee to the TDA. This fee is refunded if the complaint is upheld. A key feature of this scheme is that it is a condition of membership of the TDA that installers abide by the decision of the TDA. The four person adjudication panel includes the TDA's independent quality inspector and an inspector from the Trading Standards Office. Further details are available from the TDA's registered office; Timber Decking Association, 5 Flemming Court, Castleford, West Yorkshire WF10 5HW – Tel: 01977 558147
The TDA Deck Inspection & Report is for consumers, designers and companies who may be involved in a dispute with a supplier or contractor who is not a member of the TDA and where arbitration or expert opinion from an authoritative organisation will help resolve matters.

suitability, installation, engineering and structural integrity of decks in the UK. This service is an extension of our Inspection &
Report Service and provides Solicitors involved in a claim to call upon independent timber experts to provide objective, unbiased opinion in accordance with Civil Procedure Rules.
